where do most Americans go on vacation?

I believe not all American citizens feel its necessary to travel abroad for their holidays (vacation). So where would their favourite destinations be, and where do they prefer to stay. In a hotel, condominium with all the resort facilities like communal pool, gym, spa and onsite other onsite facilities, or do they (like most brits) prefer to hire a private villa
with a pool and all the facilities and comfort of a home ?
I am thinking of buying a villa in Orlando for rental and my own use when I can go there, but would I be better buying a condo for more regular rental income from US citizens ?

any advice would be appreciated.

We picked Kissimmee/Orlando, FL for our big vacation trip. We hunted for special deals on the internet during the non-peak tourist time (during school term) for motel w/swimming pool & laundry facilities.

Buying for a time-share has been benefitial to many but I would highly recommend an on-site ‘staff’ member to oversee that things are not damaged or stolen from your property.

Depends on Americans’ budget. As a college spring breaker- we usually head to Florida. Same with families with kids. I think both types like to stay near the ocean and get a hotel with pool, but it’s also nice to rent a condo with a group of friends for a more personal atmosphere.

our family ever since I was 2 have taken a two week trip every year. The location changes every time too. one year we would do a road trip out west and see as many states as possible, the next year we did the south, followed by the east coast line, then eastern part of Canada. From age 2 to 14 we stayed in hotels and either went to the ocean or the pool. after age 14 we bought a camper and saved tons of money by staying in truck stops. lol that was a life. now our family is into the flying so we did the california trip; disney land, universal, hollywood, baja, etc. then we also went to disney world for a week. so far in my life (17 years of traveling) I have been to every state but Alaska and Hawaii, been to Canada and Mexico. Soon I will be going to Germay. So basically as the other person said, it is up to the persons idea of adventure, fun, and what they prefer. It is also based on the budget.

I have no idea most Americans do in any situation. I love Disney World and go as often as possible. I stay on the property each time. I am considering other vacation sites at this time.

I always stay at one of the Disney hotels, but we are considering renting a house this year because my in laws are coming with their children. I would also do some research on if Americans would be more likely to rent from someone who does not live in the states. Your main clientele might be Europeans. My feeling would be if I were dealing directly with the home owner I would like some type of legal protection and I wouldn’t be sure about that. I would suggest more research like that. How much it would cost you for a leasing agent, etc.
