Well to start out, I'm going to be purchasing a 4'' "Spa Sensations" memory foam mattress pad for my bed. It was rated by consumer reports as a top buy. The only problem I have with memory foam is that I've heard that it can retain heat and some people feel it makes for a hotter nights sleep, and I personally seem to get hot at night when I sleep. QVC sold a memory foam topper with a "Coolmax Cover" that helps for a cooler nights sleep, but they are sold out.
Is there some sort of mattress pad on the market that would do the same trick as a "Coolmax cover" (which is said to "help wick moisture away from the body")? I would put this type of a mattress pad on top of the 4'' Spa Sensations memory foam pad.
Also, I would need to purchase new deeper sheets for my bed. Is there any certain type of fabric that helps for a cooler nights sleep?
P.S. I know I could just turn down the A/C but I'm trying to keep electricity usage down, and my roommates don't want a freezing house. Thanks!
