What happens when a bromine and chlorine are mixed (pool and spa question)?

We bought a house and have a chlorine pool and a bromine free standing hot tub. What happens if swimmers go back and forth between the two? Should they be doing this? Thanks.

    it’s perfectly ok! Bromine and Chlorine are from the Halogen family. If you do a little digging you will see your bromine tablets for your tub are usually on lt about 34% bromine and the rest is trichlor (chlorine). Bromine is used in hot tubs because it’s able to sanitize up to 166 degrees unlike chlorine which basically falls asleep at 98.
