What are the hotels like in Rome and Florence?

i heard that the hotels are really small. Does it have a pool or spa service like the hotels in North America? I m just wondering :) Thanks!

    There are a very wide range of hotels here – just as there are in the US. Some of the hotels in Florence and Rome are world class. There are also some budget places that somewhat old and run down … and everything in between. There range of amenities is also large – there are places with great pools and/or spas and very many that have neither. It depends on where you stay and how much you’re willing to spend. A lot of the older, cheaper hotels can have pretty small rooms, but there are also many large modern places.

    I use this site for booking hotels here in Italy: http://en.venere.com/italy/ . As you can see there are almost 600 hotels in the database in Rome alone and another 300 in Florence. The site will tell you what features are included in the individual hotels.
