there are no set guidelines, any of the safety regulatory bodies suggest you speak to your doctor, the reason is babies and toddler have such thin skin and are often not able to regulate their body temperatures very well. I myself would not let my child go into a hot tub that was over 98 degrees ever, it can be dangerous for adults to spend more then 10-15 minute in a hot tub that is 99 degrees or warmer. If the temperature was turned down then I would probably let a 3 yr old go in if they wanted to but never for more then 5 minutes at a time. Honestly I don't even think a 3 yr old would want to be in it though, my son is 6 and he still wont go into my parents hot tub and they keep it below at 95.

If you're keeping the temperature low, then I would say around 6 months old if you're holding your baby in your lap.

Just with any other water, the temp should always feel lukewarm on your wrist.

If you touch the water and think to yourself "Hey, that's kinda hot." then it's too hot for baby.

I believe this rule applies till they're old enough to climb out of the water themselves.

ohhh, don't do it!!! I think hotels don't even allow older children in hot tubs until they are well into their teen years for safety. It can raise their blood pressure to dangerous levels.

you just dont want their body temperature going up too high like a fever. we have a hot tub and we keep it at 98/99 degrees and we let out 2 year old go in it for short periods of time. the doctor said it was fine but always keep it below 99 and limit the time, it should feel like a warm bath.

Way too hot for a baby or toddler or any child. My daughter is 16 months old and takes showers just as hot as I do but it's no where near the temp of a hot tub…especially when you are IN the water for a long period of time. I don't think anyone is supposed to be in a hot tub until they are teenagers. If the water is cooler, much cooler than 95-100, then I think it would be ok. It would probably feel like a warm bath.

I googles the age limit for hot tubs and most articles said not under age 12.

I don't think it's safe at all until they are adults. Something about it being bad for their hearts.

It is never safe for a baby or a toddler to go it a hot tub. The temperatures are normally higher than 95-100. It is unsafe for their small bodies to be exposed to such high temperatures. Most public places with hot tubs have posted rules prohibiting this. Age 14 is a good rule of thumb.
