The 15' pwr cable on our softub's too short (outlet's 35' away). Anyone tried an ext cord or swapped cables?

We can purchase the exact same cable and replace the 15' cord with a 35' cord, but the manufacturer recommends against that or using ext cords. Has anyone tried either of these? How did it work? Thanks!

Run a 10 gauge 50 ext. cord with a ground prong.

The soft tubs comes with there own GFI in the original cord

The 10 gauge cord will keep voltage drop to a min.

Just make sure your cable, as you put it is rated for 600 volys an very well insulated.

If there is a heater in your tub, I’d advise upsizing the conductor to account for the extra voltage drop.
The NEC has restrictions on cord length. They have their reasons I suppose. If your tub is outside, on a properly protected circuit, and you use the correct size and insulation rated cord, you won’t have any trouble with 35′

The ideal solution would be to move the outlet, not to extend the cord. Yes it will cost more, but there are reasons why the N.E.C. wants you to keep the length to a minimum, such as voltage drop. If you want to stay safe, avoid fires, avoid tripping breakers, move the outlet to the tub.

just have a outlet installed by the tub, you could loose power by adding a ext
