What to bring to a spa, and what do you actually do?

I got a gift certificate to the JW Marriot Spa (Aquae Sulis) in Las Vegas for Christmas. YAY!
but ive never been to a spa before
what to you bring with you to a spa?
do you need a bathing suit, cause of like the pools and stuff?
do i just wear like my bra and panties when i get a massage? i don’t mind being naked on top
I know it is like a day spa thing, but do i go enjoy the pools and stuff after my massage or before?
Should i bring a friend, or go alone?

answer as many questions as you can, or add in your own info about spas. I’ve just never been to a spa, so i don’t know what to do. THANKS

Best day spa in Orange County?

Best day spa in Orange County?
Though this should be obvious to those clued in enough to provide a decent answer, a "day spa" is full service with: robes, pools / baths, steam room, snacks, etc.

By "day spa," I also mean a spa you can access WITHOUT having to purchase a service.

I assume that those who would answer this question have had birthday celebrations, bridal showers, etc, that would qualify for experience. So I would appreciate your honest reviews.

And I would also assume that those who enjoy leisure travel or other expensive purchases have at least had some local spa experience and will not find my question "indulgent." This is, quite frankly, a normal inquiry.

Please assume that I have done adequate research on Google and am not an idiot.

Please recommend to me a lovely day spa in Orange County or San Diego that offers access without having to book a treatment, massage, etc.

How much is entry and what sort of perks do you get once inside? Basically, what should I expect for the price I pay?

I’m looking for something that is uber plush inside and a-list quality. For example, Qua Spa in Las Vegas was spectacular, for entry. Something similar in quality is what I am looking for.

Pictures, personal details, extra perks or quirks, etc, are necessary to be of decent help. Thank you.

Should you tip a RMT?

When you go for a massage with a RMT (Registered Massage Therapist) is a tip expected? The massages are for pain in my back and I have a prescription from my family doctor.

I have my massages expensed through work however they do not cover the tip – only the amount of the massage. Is there an expectation from RMT’s to provide a tip for the massage service?

I rationalize it that I do not tip my chiropractor, or any other health professionals however when I pay for my massages there is a tip option via Debit or Credit Card.

I believe the difference is that I go to a "Day Spa" type of facility where they offer other aesthetic and beauty services and maybe the tip is more expected for those treatments as the employees would be paid less for their time.

Could anyone help me out here who has experience with this?

Thanks!

I am burnt from head to toe?

You know everyone is telling me to travel out to see them but i just got the notion now that for upwards of 0, couldn’t i find a nice local day spa in my area and get a complete transformation that would really lift my spirits? I mean i am a frazzle ragg a muffin right now. My hair is all washed out after 4 years of being sick and my now coming out of it. My skin is pale, i am trying to detox off all those meds and i am in a new town and wanting to stay put and really get to know this area. I feel as if running all around to other States and people’s homes is only a hindrance and me getting my hair fixed, ( constant die jobs), up is like a cheap cover up and will do nothing for long term.

My husband will be returning from Iraq in June and i want to be glowing. As it is i have lost close to 30 pounds since he left. I need to be healthy not barely standing up.

I live right next to Virginia Beach. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am in a slump.

Do you think I could be a salon owner and still be a great mom?

I want to open a day spa, I have this great space, it is huge and there is plenty of room to put a play room in for my kids(2 ages 1 and 5) I will probably get someone in to help me out with them too but this will not be a visible part of my spa. My biggest priority has always been to be home with my kids, raise them myself not putting them in daycare. do you think that trying to open and run a business will still allow me to fulfill my highest calling? I am open to all comments and suggestions. thank you

Are Americans ready for a Moroccan Bath?

I’ve been searching all over the internet for a spa that performs Moroccan Baths in the SF Bay Area. This is very big in the middle east, especially in Dubai. So I’m wondering, are Americans just not ready for this type of intense treatment? Are they too fussy? Is that why they don’t have this here? Let me know what you think. Or if you know of a spa, would love to hear about it.

So what is a Moroccan bath?
It’s an intense cleansing and exfoliating, which takes one-and-a-half-hours to complete. In fact, the briefest part of this treatment is the little briefs you are given to wear – so perhaps it’s not the most ideal treatment for the more prudish among us. The deep cleansing begins using traditional Moroccan Black cleansing soap, which quickly penetrates the skin breaking up any dead skin cells that accumulate on our bodies over time.

Where are there spa get-aways that has prenatal massage on its menu in either Singapore or neighbouring island?

It’s for a sister’s wedding treat, but one of the other sisters is 3-months pregnant, so we need to go somewhere where she can get a massage too. If no day spa, any massage place recommendation in Singapore will do too. Thank you!

I’m looking for a day spa with a pool, sauna, and hot tub. I would like a place where I could spend the day enjoying the amenities without breaking the bank. Any suggestions?

Chemical hair straightener [please read] ?

My hair is very healthy, but my natural texture is very wavy. In the summer and spring, it becomes curly and I love it. But other times, it’s just wavy and hard to maintain an actual style with it.

Last year, I bought a thermal Chemical Straightener for it at Sally’s beauty supply for about 40 bucks.

It made my hair silky and smooth and very very straight.
I barely ever used heat tools on it. I didn’t really have to.

But, for 40 bucks, it didn’t last very long, I had to do it at least twice a month. ( there’s two applications in each kit ) So I would buy about two kits every month.

I just moved to my new location and i found a day spa that offers what they call "Chemical Straightening"

I’ve heard that this would fry my hair and I definatly do not want that.

The straightener costs and I also read that professional jobs last for at least a few months.

In your own opinion, do you think I should try it?
Or do you think it will cause damage to my hair?
