Supporting failing deck with cinder blocks?

I have a house with a large back deck. There is a sunken portion that is substantially reinforced to hold a hot tub, which we've used to support an inflatable-ring-type pool. After quite a bit of rain, the ground softened and we found that one end of our deck had sunk, the supporting 2x12'' beams resting on the ground. Upon inspection, the 4x4'' posts were termite-eaten and had rotted to be only 2-3 feet long. No concrete footings to be found. We jacked up the deck and installed cinder blocks sandwiched between 2x6'' boards to support the weight and it's back where it should be, but what should I do at this point? Of course renting a post hole digger and installing proper footings and new 4x4 posts is ideal, but we're on a budget. Are cinderblocks sufficient as a temporary fix?

What should I do for my 16th birthday party?

It will be around the end of February, probably at my house or a local park. I don't have a large backyard, though I do have a pool and spa. I live in San Diego, so it should be warm enough to hang out outside, though it might be overcast. I don't have a huge budget so I can't get a band or anything, but I do want to have a fun and unique party. Ideas?

Wait for it - I have loads of wants on my list.
Detached bungalow or water villa, with a private pool or jacuzzi. All inclusive but really good food - not just buffet. Spa and excursions are available. Dont want to blow the budget too much but will pay to get it all. There are so many to choose from.

Would a sweet sixteen birthday party in a hotel be a good idea?

I mean like rent out a hotel room and have a sleepover.. but what else could we do.. I mean it could get boring?
Quite a posh hotel, not anything cheap.
so it would probably have spa facilities and a pool (but im only young and dont have a big budget)

I'm booking a trip as a gift for my boyfriend. I've only been to Vegas once nd stayed at the Luxor. I know all the big name hotels, but can anyone tell me what the most fun place is? There are a few really nice ones (like the Wynn) that I'm afraid might be boring. Doesn't need to be budget -three stars & up.

I'm not looking for a spa or nice pool, I'm looking for the best bars & location for a boys' weekend.

Is she a bridezilla, or am I an insensitive Maid of Honor?

My best friend is getting married in about 4 months. I've been trying to help her plan it for over a year. She has gone way above budget & is putting a ton on credit cards & going into debt. I tried to talk to her about not hiring a 00 wedding photographer, but she wouldn't listen (especially after getting the $ from the groom's father).
As Maid of Honor, I've tried to help a lot. Besides buying the dress, ugly flat shoes (so I won't be taller), the shower (complete with custom cake, flower arrangements, games and prizes paid for by me), shower gift etc. She also asked me to print the invitiations (I did) & she said she would cover costs (she didn't).
I'm expected to throw her bachelorette party. She wants a spa day, a lingerie shower, dinner & clubbing. Problem, since I'm expected to also pay for a wedding gift. I live 6 hours away, & will have to pay for a hotel for a week!
The final insult was telling me she was only going to spend each on bridal party gifts! Am I nuts?

Tunisa holiday advice needed please?

We are planning on going on holiday to Tunisa in September 2010. There will be 8 adults & 11 + 12 year old. (Budget is about £650/800 each + spending money no more than £300)(cheaper the better)

We are definitely going to go all inclusive but would like advice on where are the "must see/do things"

We havent picked an area to stay in yet but our criteria to suit everyone is;

Diving club,
Car Hire
Kids entertainment,
Sandy beach,
Swimming pool
Spa treatment
Quad Bike Trip
Camel Trip/ Desert Trip (should we book in UK or at resort?)

Any recommendations/advice etc is appreciated

Atlanta Hotels: Romance?

I will be making a trip to the Atlanta area for my wife's birthday and anniversary (so a romance package is the idea of the question) and I would like to find a hotel with a "luxurious" feel to it. Here is a list below for those of you who may be able to help me.

Expectations:
Jacuzzi, swimming pool, spa if possible, dining, romance package

Location:
Will be visiting Dave and Busters and the Mall of Georgia, so a convenient location will be best.

Budget:
Comfortable with spending 0-300 a night but nothing over 0 a night.

Would you reconsider your vow renewal arrangments if this happened to you?

We are renewing our vows for our 15th wedding anniversary. I planned to stay at a posh resort, and I have tried several times to ask them if its okay with them for us to use the grounds for a vow renewal. They are making me VERY nervous, because they aren't answering my direct questions sometimes. I feel really weird, because they rent areas on the grounds, they charge HUGE amounts of money, and I have said we're only having like 6 people there and what do they have to offer me... and I get no answers!? I'm trying to plan, but the wedding consultant won't even call me, and I'm not sure why, but I suspect its because my budget is roughly the cost of ONE of their 100 appetizer plates (My budget for 6 people is 0.00 - their appetizers are like 0.00 for 100). I feel weird, poor and unnappreciated. Should I cancel my stay there? The hotel has many amenities, but I could host my own event at a house and drive to a spa/swimming and it would be cheaper. What would you do?
We're staying in the Pocono's in Pennsylvania, preferably the lower poconos, as you can see the mountains there. The rest of the Poconos are sort of a huge plateau and there's no pretty mountains to look at.
Also, when I say host an event at a house, I will have to rent a chalet, which might not be bad, but everything will be farther away and there won't be as many indoor things to do if it rains. Although I have many anniversary indoor plans I can't mention here... hee hee.
