Sounds like your tank is water logged.that’s about the extent of my knowledge on pumps. But I don’t think its your pump. It would be advisable to call Plumber, before you burn your pump up. TY

If your filter is creating more pressure than a standard hose clamp can withstand, then you will need the wire clamp used to attach hydraulic hoses to hydraulic pumps and cylinders. Just make sure you make it out of stainless steel.

The tool you need is called a Clamp Tite and sells for $20. Google the tool and you will find several distributors.

Mostly just a confirmation of Don’s answer. He’s right, submersible pumps never need priming. IF your pump is running and you’re getting no water, either the pump is shot, you have a huge hole in the feed line somewhere between the pump and the house, or the screen is plugged, or the well is dry. Unfortunately, you’re going to need a well guy to check it out.

How do you prime a 400 ft. deep submersible Sta-Rite Well pump?
My pump stopped working, so I took the start capacitor to the store to be tested. It was weak. It has been replaced and re-connected and still puts out no water. The pump was purchased brand new in 2002, 6 years ago.

I have well water and a Sta-rite pressure tank, the pump goes on everytime the water is turned on.?
Anytime water is used, the pump gauge keeps going from 60psi down to 40psi, then it goes back to 60. This keeps happening for as long as the water is being used. At the same time the water pressure also pulsates along with the gauge changes. The system is nine years old. I also noticed that there is a valveon top of the tank. I pressed in the neddle on the valve and water squirted out. I am afraid that I’m going to burn out my well pump. Do I have a problem? What can I do?

Sta-rite pool pump service in Michigan?
    Would like CF adapter rebuilt.

Check with your local pool shop. If they have a service department, they’ll be able to help. We’re almost all, trained in cross platform repairs. Sta Rite offers training courses throughout north america, every spring, which most of us go to to bone up on new products. Parts won’t be an issue for any service department.

Best way to connect Sta Rite filter/pump to ABG pool? Pvc not practical, but flex hose blowing off?
We had to get a new ABG filter/pump system, home warranty covered it, they installed a Sta Rite system. When removing the lid to take the filter out, pvc is too rigid and makes the connection to the eyeball wiggle, causing it to leak. We installed a combination of pvc, and flex hose, but now it is blowing out where those are connected. The hose clamps can’t be tightened enough to withstand the pressure I guess. Any solutions would help tremendously. Thanks

the baldder in you pressure tank has ruptured.
when you press the needle on the valve air should come out not water.
you well pump should be ok if you get the tank replaced soon.
install a new bladder tank. call a plumber if you cant do it yourself.
