Roman baths had three pools- a hot pool, a cold pool, and an in between pool

And anybody who had the means usually went to the baths, it was a social hub in roman society

No chlorine.
Bath- no clothes
pool-usually clothes worn
bath men and women separate in pools
pools men and women usually together except in spas where they are almost like roman baths

Roman hot baths were built over elaborate piping connected to furnaces. Slaves fueled the furnaces while the Romans frolicked and kibitzed above. The baths in Bath, England were mineral water and were considered medicinal as well.
