What is the best way to keep up the water quality in my hot tub?
We have tried the Baquacil system, but didn’t like the smell that it left on us when we got out. Also, it seemed to foam up a lot. Any suggestions?

I use bromide tablits I keep the level of bromide kinda high I run my filter four hrs a day hose my filter out every couple of weeks and keep a close eye on PH if I don’t slip up I can keep the water crystal clear for over 6 months I have you drain it to clean the sand out before it gets cloudy

Go to a pool and spa store. They usually have a few with them all filled and ready to go. I used to work at a place that sold spas and we had one set up in the back so people could try them out. We sold Hotsprings. I work on all types of spas and they are by far the best. They have a long warrenty that covers parts and labor for five years.

A regular 5′x30″ cast iron tub will stand the test of time. Kohler is about the best, costing in or around $300. Fiber-glass tubs or soakers vary in price and make. The cheaper you go the less quality you get. Jacuzzi, Kohler are good brands.
