The system has two pumps. One pump, pumps air through the system. The other pump is the circulating pump. Its the one that your talking about. It could have a plug in the line preventing circulation through the system. Leave the filter out and run the pump. Watch at the filter to see if it’s pulling water and circulating you should be able to see it pulling water. With the filter out and you still have the same problem then plug line.

The pump on my spa doesnt seem to be working propperly can anyone advise of an easy fix?
We have an Onga pump and when we press the button for the bubbles to come from the jets this works fine (this is marked as aux on the pump), however when we press the button for the pump, which usually heats the water etc…it just makes a churning noise and the red fault light comes on and no water etc comes through the jets.

Ive cleaned the filter and elements I just wondered if anyone knew of an easy fix before I spend money calling out an engineer.

    Thank you

Can a 110V spa pump be rewired for 220V ?
I purchased a 110V pump and controller and the controller can be converted to 220v can the pump be? I’d like to go 220V because of electrical cost and heatup time.

  4. tkquestion says:

Take a look at a plate that is on the motor. It should give you the spec. If it is not there, open up the box where the wire should go. There is usually a connection diagram for 110 and 220 use.

can a 12V 8A spa pump be powered form a 12V car battery?
If so what else would I need to make this work and which battery would be adequate.

I was planning on using a Solar panel trickle charger to charge up the battery then run the pump once every few days or so.

Any useful advice would be appreciated

    thanks

  6. Robert Lee says:

The short answer is Yes. Other considerations:

It depends on how long you intend to run the pump. Look at the watt-hour rating on your battery. Every hour the pump runs you draw 12*8 or 96 watt-hours out of the battery.

The next consideration is whether you need a regular car battery or a deep cycle battery such as is used in marine applications running say a trolling motor. A car battery is made to supply high currents for a short period of time and then be recharged after the engine starts. 8A is rather low and you’d be drawing it for more than 15 seconds at a time, so the car battery would wear out. Deep cycle would be more appropriate. they’re designed to run lower currents over a longer period of time.

    Either can be trickle charged.

best way lazy spa any tips on using does filter pump need to be all the time or just couple hours?
if i turn pump off at weekend while we are away would the water need to changed or could i just switch on filter

  9. Tamkum says:

Firstly, you have to check the specification of the water pump, and find out if there is available in the market. Specification needed: Pressure kg.cm2, Capacity Lt/min, AC voltage and Frequency and the wiring system should be the same.
Then the inlet and outlet connection system, which usually needs to be modified to suit the Spa.
Also the size, of the pump, will it fit into the pack.
But if you are a handyman, you are not to worry at all.
    Hope the best.

Replacement pump for a Spa N A Box?
Replacement pump for a Spa N A Box??
Does anyone know or have any experience changing out the pump in the power pack of a Spa N A Box without having to buy a new complete system? I would like to have to change out the water pump only, and save as much money as possible doing so.
