we're having stone (rectangle shape,1 side's flat,1 side has bullnose) installed around our circular inground spa to hide the white vinyl material the spa is made out of. Well the installer laid the stone out so that there is a bullnose edge on the outside of the spa and a bullnose edge on the inside of the spa. Yes from far away, this looks good. However, the installer overhung the stone on the inside of the spa (yes where you sit) 2 inches past the interior edge of the vinyl. You might think this is not a problem but if you sit in it, you will feel the stone sticking at your shoulder or neck depending on how tall you are. I am short statured and I objected to having stones sticking at my neck. However, he claims that this is how stones are normally laid out on the inside. From most of the pool and spa idea books I've seen, the stones are laid flush on the inside. I can see the overhanging the stones a bit but not more than half an inch. What do you think?Flush or overhung by how far?
