Things To Consider In Purchasing Pool Heaters And How Minimize Cost From Usage

By Chris Turley

We all love swimming pools because it is a naturally controlled environment. You can control the influx of water, the presence of microorganisms and even the chemistry of the water. Unlike beaches, current is dictated by the gravity of the earth. It is naturally salty and you cannot do anything about it. Fresh bodies of water, comes naturally streaming at most of the time. It may not be salty but when water becomes murky, you do not treat it with anything. You just let it clear for itself. Swimming pools are the safest man-made body of water simply because you can purify the water, you can filter it, you can mix the chemicals to create a neutral ph of water and water problems can be easily taken cared of since you can drain them and do scrubbing.

Those are just the basic features. You can even do more for your pool pebble so that you can swim on it night or day without regard for temperature. Heaters are effective in manipulating the temperature of your pool. However, how hot it can be will be according to homeowner. Efficiency is really needed in here because people have varying preference for the temperature they want in a bathing.

So how do you select these devices? These are few of your considerations:

Sometimes when I’m really in the zone and shooting good I like to think I’m on fire. Fire is hot, so I guess you might say that in that logic, I’m a pool heater and I like to pump the heat to my fans. Yeah!

    pool heaters?
When ever I look for electric pool heaters they also show me a heater pump. Do I need it and what does it do???

Do swimming pool heaters really work?
Thinking of buying a swimming pool heater but not sure what type! I have a 10 feet circular splash pool with solar cover but would like to warm the water up on cooler days to get more use out of it – any suggestions or ideas please.
Some heaters I have seen are Bestway, Intex & Oblue all 3KW.

A heater is a heater, they’ll be able to make the repairs…

  5. scafool says:

the first thing is to check if your heater is actually working, does it heat the pool at all, if the heater is working the next thing is do you have a cover for your pool? radiation of heat, wind cooling and air conduction and also the heat lost through evaporation may be enough to exceed your heaters capacity. most covers are like a floating plastic blanket, like that bubble wrap stuff for parcel shipping, but bigger and tougher. The evaporation cooling is most noticeable in very dry place like Aridzona or Newd Mexico. Even on the hottest sunniest days a swimming pool can be chilled to the 40 or 50 degree range by water evaporation, especially if there is any breeze even slight over the water. A heater also takes a long time to heat a pool.because there is a lot of water to heat but you should be able to sense warmer water from the heater outflow if it is working. check that your screens and filters are not plugged

yes and it keeps them pretty warm

Do regular heater repair places usually work on pool heaters as well?
There’s a panel on the side of our pool heater that is incredibly rusted. I’ll be relieved if it makes it through the summer. We’re going to need to get it fixed obviously. But I’m wondering who we would hire to fix it. We live in Ohio, so it’s not like there are a lot of pool repair businesses around our area. Would regular heating and plumbing places work on this sort of thing?

  8. ►BobB◄ says:

    NEITHER!

For the last three years, we have used a LP pool heater. They are VERY EXPENSIVE to operate…
We do not have natural gas service on our street.

We are going to buy an electric heatpump pool heater to replace the LP powered one. Electricity is cheaper then LP.

  9. Sakura says:

What is a better fuel for pool heaters? Natural Gas or Propane?
I can’t seem to fine an answer anywhere? Does anyone know which one is better for a pool. My pool is an 18′ in diameter round pool. I’m going to buy a heater for my pool but I just want to know which fuel source is better like cost less money after running the same amount of time.
