Outdoor Pools - How To Spend The Summer Right

Author: Alexander Johns

Summer is just around the corner and everyone is getting excited about it. We all know that summer is everyone's time to relax, have fun, and devour the heat of the season. Many families are planning to hit the beach or spend the summer outside the country.

Doing any summer getaway can be worthy, but is it really practical? Some home owners spend the summer at the comfort of their own backyard. While others spend the hot season on their outdoor pools. If you are owning a swimming pool, you are such a lucky one. Following any of these tips will surely make your summer a good one:

  1. Organize a pool party, most preferably a night swimming party. Invite your friends and enjoy the summer night. Allow them to swim in a cold pool water. You don't need to use a pool heater because its more relaxing to swim in a cold water while the atmosphere is warm.
  2. If your swimming pool does not have fun equipments like diving board or slide, better get your own. These equipments will surely amplify the swimming fun of your family and friends. Before you acquire a diving board, make sure your swimming pool follows safety requirements for installing. Check your county if installing a diving board is allowed. Some places in America do not allow to install such. A pool slide is also a good pool device, too.
  3. Acquire inflatable pool items like lounge chair and bed. Any members of your family or friends can enjoy the sun while in the middle of a pool. Purchase an inflatable pool toy that has tight scrims and made from thick plastic.
  4. If you have problems with regards to the space of your pool area, you may want to build a leveled pool deck. This area can be used when going out of the pool and drying yourself off. Pool deck is also a place to hang out especially when sunbathing. Many pool owners have landscaped their pool grounds in order to maximize the space of their backyard.
  5. Spending the summer is not all about fun. You must also protect your pool water during summer because bacteria and algae can germinate immensely. Apply chlorine and algaecide in your swimming pool. Do not mix these chemicals together because they might create a sordid solution. Apply these chemicals every week to make the pool water clean and safe to swim.
  6. You don't need to splurge hundreds of dollars just to enjoy your summer. With a swimming pool in your backyard and little bit of creativity, this will help much on how to spend the summer right.

Go to Google.com and find a real estate agent in the area who specializes in apartment rentals. Phone him or her to get some information.

Of course the outdoor swimming season is not much longer in West Virginia than Wisconsin.

What apartments have outdoor pools near Marshall Unversity?
So I am going to be moving from Wisconsin to West Virginia to go to grad school at Marshall University. I would love to have an apartment with a pool or other outdoor amenities. So far all I have found is the Country Club Apartments. Does anyone know of any others?

Best hotel in April in Reno with kids.. as hotels with outdoor pools are still closed then?
We have stayed at the Grand Sierra, their outdoor pool will be closed, as will Silver Legacy and Harrah’s…. (seasonal) Peppermill is closed for remodel until late May. Where is left?

Feel free to drop me a line at robandliz1992@yahoo.com and I’ll be more than happy to get you on a tailored chemical and mechanical maintenance schedule for your pool.

If you are capable of doing the following tests then please send me the results. If you aren’t then please take a sample of water to your local pool store and ask them to test for:
    Total chlorine
    Free chlorine
    Combined chlorine
    pH
    Alkalinity
    Hardness
    Cyanuric acid
    Total dissolved solids
    Metals
    Phosphates

With these results I can tell you exactly how much of specific things to add. The above answer on the baking soda was partially right. This is a very effective alkalinity increaser but the amount recommended would give you VERY high alkalinity in the pool which is bad.

Atlantis has an indoor pool…as does john ascuagas nuggett in sparks (3 miles east of downtown reno). Both of those are good spots for kids, because they are in nice neighborhoods, and have big arcades, The nuggett is also accross the street from a 16 screen theatre, and depending on the ages, it is safe for kids to walk alone (in daylight)

How do you get the water crystal clear in outdoor pools?
We just bought and set up our new outdoor pool and have been doing the testing for the Bromine, Chlorine, pH and alkalinity levels and it does not seem to be coming up to where the levels should be. Can someone help us by telling us how many tablets of chlorine to put in the water and how to get the others (Bromine, pH and alkalinity) right. The pool is a 18′ x 48″ and holds over 4000gals of water.

What Hiltons or Hilton properties have the best outdoor pools?
I am looking for an awesome outdoor pool. It needs to be at a Hilton hotel, or at least a Hilton property (I’m a Hilton Diamond member). I live in Fort Wayne, IN, and am willing to drive 4 or 5 hours to get there if need be (but closer would be nice). I would like a rooftop pool, but I really don’t know if there are any around the mid-west. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    NOPE…
They are usually like luke-warm bathwater in the Summer & most resorts and such heat them in the Winter time. We never had to heat the Jaccuzzi in the summer… all we had to do was leave the black plastic cover on it. sometimes had to run cold water from the hose to cool it down lol

Do the outdoor pools in the Phoenix area usually close down for a certain time during the year?
