With the Raypak 2100….. If water is not flowing, you will not have flame.
It may not feel like anything is happening yet but give it a little time.

im not familiar with the product but if your heating both a pool and a spa at the same time its not going to heat up at any quick rate. The average residential pool can take days with older heaters. I looked up your operating manual and if you know the volume of water you have you can calculate roughly how long it will take to get to temp its on pg 34 of your operations manual. But like TC said its going to take a while to notice a difference and if the water is flowing and your heater is engaged and burning then its just a waiting game until it reaches where you want it to be.

This also depends on the weather you currently have as colder weather will make the heater take longer to achieve the temp you want. You might look into getting a pool/spa blanket to keep more of the heat in rather then letting it wick off the surface. Basically a pool blanket if your not familiar with it is basically an overpriced and modified bubble wrap covering. It does work quite well but is prone to chemical erosion over time and will need to be replaced every 2-5 yrs depending on how well you maintain your chemistry

The other problem could be your filter depending on whether your using a cartridge filter which can be come clogged with debris and gunk over time or a sand filter which might just need a good back washing or if its been over 5yrs might be due for a sand change as it might be bound up or clogging the lateral assembly inside it. If you havent checked either first be careful to alleviate the pressure in the filter by bleeding it off either by shutting down the pool and removing the connection unions to said filter or by using the bleed valve which you can usually find on top of the filter, This is very important as the top can fire off like a rocket with enough pressure behind it.

Basically if you can give me more information about your system i can better advise you about what might be happening with it but with what youve told me im kind of shooting in the dark here with some of the problems ive encountered regarding your dilemma.

Just in case you cant find your manual heres the formula in your operating manual on pg34 of your troubleshooting guide

Takes long time to heat Calculate temperature in °/hr…………….

Heat rise (°/hr.)= Htr. output pool or spa Dividied by Pool gallonage x 8.33
or refer to heater sizing chart. This does not take into
account heat loss due to weather.
Filter not running long enough…………… Reset time clock.
    Dirty filter……………………………………….. Clean filter.
Gas line or meter undersized……………. Refer to installation instructions.

the water entering pool is NOT hot…but 10 – 15 degrees warmer than pool temperature the heater heats a small portion of water at one time and mixes it with pool water

you really need to review the trouble shooting section of the manual or go the mfg website. you will have a much better handle on it if you do.
