The motor runs every hour. Shall I D/c it and continue adding chemicals or just drain the 400 gallon tub?
The motor runs every hour automatically. Shall I D/c it and continue adding chemicals or just drain the 400 gallon tub? Covered, shall I uncover it occasionally?

    No reason for it to run every hour. But you don't need to heat it either.
    Draining it may cause problems with the filters and pipes.
    It would be best to simply turn the temp down. If you are in an area prone to freezing you may want to keep an eye on it. Once a week check the water level and every other week do a chem check.
    Leave it covered. If the pump is on a timer and not controled by the thermostat then see if you can reprogram it to once a day or two. If not, turn it off. Run it once in a while.
