My fiancee and I are planning our honeymoon…we were looking at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa…?

in Kuai...the only thing is that Frommers warns that the water there is not really easy to swim in. Is there a place of this quality class and service but also where the beach and water are calm? It doesn't even have to be Hawaii...just NOT Mexico...

Why not Maui, Kaanapali Beach? I stayed at the Westin – it was very nice, close to Whaler’s Village. The beach is long and easy to swim in. Maui is very beautiful in its own way (though Kauai is very nice too). There are a lot of resorts to look at in this area.

The beach that the Hyatt is on is Shipwreck beach. It is more for the surfers at the east end. Waves were pretty calm when I was there in May. There are other beaches near by, Brennecke beach or Pouipu Shores which are calmer and you can swim, there are current areas so you will need to watch the signs and avoid those areas. Brennecke is good for snorkeling. Unfortunately, on this island there are no good places to see a sunset. If you want a hotel with a really nice beach, then I like the Mauna Lani on the Big Island. Most of the Big Island does not have nice beaches, but that one is really nice. http://www.maunalani.com/. Great Resort that I loved Restaurants were fabulous spa was great, and a turtle cove and swim with the dolphins was the Grand Hilton On the Big Island. http://www.hiltonwaikoloavillage.com/resort/resort-facts-map.asp. Just a short drive up to Mauna Lani which is public in areas. Great Sunsets, I got married on A bay there. On Maui, the beaches are calm and nice there I stayed at the Westin Kaanapali http://www.westinmaui.com/ Restaurants are OK but better to go into Lahaina to dine. Great Sunsets!!

I hope you have a great time! I love Hawaii and the spas there.
