Insect bite help… was bit at 1 pm and now have hives?
I was bit by a black bug earlier today (1pm). I was getting into my car and felt a pinch/sting. Looked and found a bug under my sleeve. I squished it and got rid of it. I know now I should’ve kept it. It looked like a fat black ant, but a little different than an ant. I googled what it might be. The closest I came to is a carpenter ant. Now its 11pm and I have hives all over the backs of my thighs. Can’t figure out if its from my friends pool/spa or what bit me. Any help is appreciated!!

It sounds like you have either had an allergic reaction to the insect that bit you, or an allergic reaction to the chlorine in the pool. Hives are a common problem when there is too much histamine that comes to the site or to the skin when an allergen (or something that you’re allergic to, comes in contact with you). It sounds like it could have been a spider that bit you.
Sounds like it could have been some type of ant or velvet ant, which is actually a type of wasp that mimics an ant. Whatever it was, definately sounds like you are having a reaction. Take some benadryl and get to a doctor ASAP, if you have any problems breathing or anything i would go to the emergency room.
