I have a 26,000 gallon in ground pool with spa combo. Tonight I turned on the blower for the spa.?

After 30 minutes, the blower to the spa shut off automatically. I reviewed the pool programs from the control box inside my house and saw that this was supposed to happen. However, now the water in my spa is draining into my pool (I can feel the suction coming from the intake/outake valves on the sides of the spa). I tried refilling the spa twice already from the outside control panel (by turning on the filter and "spa fill" controls, as instructed by the conntrol panel that is attached to my house beside my pool. However, each time I did this, the spa filled to the level I wanted it filled to, but then started to drain again once I turned the "spa fill" feature and filter off. It's a slow drain, but a drain nevertheless. Any ideas on why this is happening and how can I stop it so the water level in the spa will remain above the intake/outake valves........or better yet, remain at the top of the spa where I like it?

the drain valve is sticking. it probably has debris in it that won’t let it close completely.

I believe you have a back-flow valve that may have something in it. This valve normally shuts when the pump stops keeping the water in your elevated spa. The suction you feel on the spa jets are the back-flow of spa water to the pool in an attempt to equalize both water levels.

Most back-flow valves have a clear cover so you can roughly see the usually red colored paddle valve move back and forth. The cover is attached with 6 screws. Most pools have at least two of these but the one you want is on a line that is connected to both the pool and spa return and may have a valve to adjust the amount of water going to the pool. Any attempt to work on the valve should be done with the pump off and its breaker off to prevent the pump coming on.

If you are not sure about performing the repairs then please call a reputable pool maintenance person to do it for you.
