How to clean a Hot Springs Hot Tub?

Just bought a house that came with a hot tub - problem is, the seller didn't clean the hot tub for about 3-6 months. It has been kept covered and the water smells of chlorine still though and no visible signs of algae or anything else. My question is...how should I go about cleaning it? Where do I start? :(

Baking Soda!! Natures best cleaing tool. It wont scratch, but it deodorizes, and leaves a clean fresh feeling, and smell. Hint, you can clean just about anything with baking soda. It has a natural bleaching effect. I would start by totally draining the tub, and scour away, rinse well, (the baking soda will also help keep your drains and pumps clean, and fresh) Then refill.. No harsh chemicals, and your new hottub, will feel totally clean.

It’s good that it smells of chlorine….
You should drain the water completely, and wash down the walls and floor with a general purpose cleaner – rinse it, using a large sponge to soak up the water. Then once clean, refill with fresh water. Good luck
