How long does it take my hot tub to reheat after filling it back up with water?

I drained my hot tub the day before and installed a new filter. Yesterday evening around 6 pm I filled the water back up and turned on the heater to reheat the water. It is now 6 am the following morning and when I checked the water it is ice cold but yet I hear the heater running. Shouldn't the water be at least a few degrees warmer then it was yesterday, if anything its actually colder.

    Time to heat depends on how much power the heater uses. But, you should feel a difference after 12 hours. Make sure the pump is running and moving water (you should be able to feel water coming in the jets). Otherwise, the heater won't do anything.

    One more thing …
    Since you drained your tub, you might have an air bubble stuck in the line. In this case, your pump would be running, but not moving any water (this may also be hard on the pump). You might need to prime the pump (perhaps shooting water in the pump inlet with a hose, or maybe there's a vent valve that you can open). Once the air passes, then it will work better.

    Ther coould be a proble with a pipe because normally it heats water rather quickly. Check if there are no leaks or closed pipes.

    Check the hi temp overload on the control cabinet or wherever it is located on yours. It can trip and the pump will keep running but the water will stay cold. Mine has a red button I need to push in to reset. It is a manual reset so it will not reset by itself. When you drain the water sometimes you get an airlock in the heater and it trips before the water can get to it. Good luck.

    is your heater on? Is it plugged in? is the fuse blown? is the circuit breaker tripped? Is the heater broke as it over heated when you drained it? Is it covered? is it really cold outside? Or is your neighbor playing a trick on you and putting a scoop of snow in it every hour?
