How do I lock my spa hot tub so teenagers cant get in it?

    it depends if its and in ground spa or above ground spa? above ground should be easy, like other users said you should be able to find a locking cover. If its in ground, you might need to hire someone to either put a fence up, or create a lockable top for it. It would have to consist of making steel loop in the cement around your spa and getting a cover that you could lock the edges on to the cemented loops. Are you the only one using it? or is it a community spa? if its a community spa or you plan on letting people you know in with out you.. think of getting a combination lock. keep in mind most locks can be forcefully opened/busted… if you adamant on keep kids out, you can set up surveillance, and call the cops on the kids, put up a sign that warns trespassers will be prosecuted!

    Check the manual – there may be a way to lock the water valves somewhere so that they can't use it. Or call up an electrician to put a secret switch somewhere so that those teens couldn't use it.

    Or you can try locking the whole room where the spa hot tub is in with a bit deadbolt but I'm guessing you can't do that.

    I had this same problem. Teenager got into it and put Bubble bath in it. Cost me $900 to fix. I got 2 six foot cables (You may need loner depending on size of tub) and two I-hooks that are the closed kind. You can get the Cables at Lowe's or Walmart. Get the ones that have loops made in them. You can either screw the I-hooks in your deck or the side of the tub. Place the cables in the I-hooks and loop them thru them selves so that they are attached to the hooks. Then run the end of the cables thru the handles in the cover and accroos the top of the cover until they meet each other. Get a master lock and lock them together. Make sure the have just enough cable so that they barley touch in the middle. The covers that have locks can be opened with a knife. Mine lasted about 30 seconds. I haven't had a problem with the lock and cables plus a little sit down with the teenager! Hopes this helps
