Hot Ideas: Hot Tub Enclosures

Ideas for enclosing hot tubs include using gazebos, fencing, screens, and wood roof covers. There are many reasons why you should enclose your hot tub. The most prevalent would be that if your hot tub were outdoors, you would want to keep bugs, debris, and rain from entering your hot tub and contaminating it.

Depending on your location and climate, you may find that it makes the most sense to completely enclose your outdoor sauna, with screens and a door to prevent any debris or insects from entering the hot tub whatsoever. There are many woodworking plans available that will enable a talented craftsman to build their own enclosure. This is cost effective yet it will require a commitment to finish the project. Whether you prefer to build your own enclosure or purchase one that simply requires assembly, you will find that enclosing your tub will have a direct effect on how much enjoyment you derive from your tub.

Indoor-outdoor enclosures abound and there are many styles available. If privacy is a concern, then you may choose to close all windows in with a darker tinted screen. If your backyard is already secluded with a privacy fence, then you may not require that your hot tub is shielded from view. You can choose gazebo style enclosures in a number of different wood finishes. These look beautiful and are functional as well. Cedar is a common wood used to create enclosures and Cedar is a natural mild insect repellant. It is used in many outdoor furnishings, for hanging plant containers, and makes a great outdoor tub enclosure.

Decorating ideas are plentiful when it comes to enhancing your outdoor hot tub. There are many enclosures that are very roomy and have ample space for allowing decorating inside of the gazebo or enclosure area. You may be tempted to hang lots of flowers and vines for their beauty, but if the thought of attracting more bugs concerns you, then limit the decorative plants to artificial or indoor hanging plants where you know that insects will be kept at bay. You may even decide to decorate your tub area with a theme, such as nautical, ocean, or tropical. Using ships, lighthouses, or palm trees, you can find many accessories that will make you feel as if you are at your own private island every time you enter the hot tub.

What should i expect to pay to have a professional company move a hot tub?
I have apx 60 miles to go. The hut tub is on the back porch with screened-in enclosure. The hot tub is 6.5′ x 7.5′ x 33″. Located in tampa, fl

the best thing to do is just call moving companies and get quotes to compare.

Go to home center ask plumbing dept to order you custom made cultured marble shower base. Measure the distance from existing drain from 2 walls. Take that measurement to home center. Have them quote you price on this shower base.
It will be fairly heavy. You can set new base then put cement board on walls in prep for ceramic, or you can order full custom fit sheets of cultured marble in lots of colors and styles to cover the 3 shower walls, they make corner trim pcs. for the corners. There are only seams in corners where panels meet. Caulk them with clear silicone, install corners and caulk them also. You can order soap dishes, seats, and other access. to match your color.
Cultured marble is a man made product, very high gloss, easy to clean. My 4′ x 3′ shower was $1200 including the base, 3 wall panels, soap dish and corner trims.
    Very nice.

I am wanting to tear out fiberglass tub enclosure?
I want to replace it with a shower but I can’t seem to find and shower pans that will fit the same drain opening. I plan on tiling the walls around the shower and putting in glass doors. I just can’t move the drain. I don’t have a problem with the hot and cold water. Does anyone know where they sell shower pans to replace tub enclosures?????

You may have a weak GFCI breaker. They do wear out. I would replace it 1st.

High humidity can also trip a GFCI. It is better to have a GFCI breaker than an outlet.

If it is a larger tub, be sure humidity will not be an ongoing problem for you if you do choose to put it inside. Some owners find that the tubs can cause wood to warp and windows to sweat (causing moisture probs on frames and sills) if there isn’t adequate space or air flow. Good luck.

My hot tub keeps tripping the GFCI when water passes through the heater. Not a new installation.?
I have a hot tub that has been installed for a few years with no issues. This year after filling it up, I started the pump before opening the valves that allow water flow through the pipes. No issue, so I opened the valves, and it tripped the breaker. I shut the valves, and everything runs fine (although obviously no water runs through the tub). I do not see any evidence of corrosion in the heater or inside the enclosure. How can I test for a short or check for some problem in the heating element, other than visually?

steam sauna can be small for a bath tub enclosure or that will heat a room 6ft x 8ft x 7 or 8 ft high hot water heater that could be used on a houseboat or an RV -must be able to use lp gas but could be both LP + electric

    Hot tub, outside or inside?
I might be getting a hot tub and dont know where to put it? It will be in the NE so, not hot all year round..lol. Anway, I have a patio enclosure with windows and some thin carpet. So I am not sure if I should put it in there, which with some adjusting will fit, or put it outside? It has a cover on it. However, IDK where to put it..lol. The patio enclosure has bamboo drapes, so it would like nice. However, i can see it looking nice outside as well. I know 4 people that have hot tubs. 2 inside( they had space ), and two outside. The ones with outside used it only on special events or in the late spring/summer to my knowledge. Where would you put yours, inside the patio or outside?
