I recently moved into a new house with a hot tub, and I have a question about it.?
I recently moved into a new home, and it has a hot tub. The brand is Down East, however I can’t find any other info on it, I can’t find a model or anything, except for a few serial numbers.

Does anyone know how I can find out the model type with out having to go to a dealer and deal with all the bull crap?

I’m also having trouble getting it to work, we filled it up, but nothing happens when we turn it on, I don’t know if it is even getting power or not. I don’t know anything about hot tubs as it is and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Down east is manufactured by Master Spas out of Ft. Wayne Indiana. The other person’s link will take you right to them. you will have to give them the serial number that is attached to the panel directly under your topside control. I like the brand sold hundreds of them.

Most likely your sc-30 fuse has blown. Turn the power off to the hot tub and then replace that fuse. After that then call a pro!

Don’t try local dealers, just look in the local newspaper classifieds for a carpenter or a handyman, they are self employed, small and they need the small jobs, I’m sure there are a lot around Richmond, they do the work believe me and won’t cost much..☺

Air blower size on a hot tub?
I have a used shell hooked up to my pool pump. It needs a air pump to make the bubbles and such. It is about 6 foot square . Not the biggest but probably a 6 man in size. No labels. There are 13 large jets and numerous other air ports. Not the super fancy jetted one I’m sure. Anyhow I see some dealers saying 1 1/2 pvc pipe is only rated for 1 hp air pumps. Is a 1 1/2 Hp pump going to be over kill? 110 volts preferred. It has a 1 1/2 air manifold thingy with like 10 1/2 inch take offs to start with then goes all over the place with more manifolds on the manual controls. I had to use 1 — 1 inch pvc straight connector inside of it to repair a break but it is only 1 1/2 inches long.
Would you buy a used one or am I wasting my money you think?
It was the manifold that was broken!

Bad wood around my hot tube?
I have a fairly nice hot tub but the wood skirt around it is coming apart. The tub it self is good. How should I go about getting it re-fit w/ new wood skirting around it. No local dealers will do it.
    Thank you for any advise.

this is follow up on hot tub.i emmpied the thing the time all the way with a 5 gallon bucket, would hardly run?
out drain hose, yes i had the ‘drain bib’ opened, stuck garden hose in filter compartment, filled back up,started, leaks waer, inspected all unions, etc, etc. ok. water came from under the tb,sorse unknown, tub manufacturer says i got water in air lines, does not tell how to remidy or avoid doing again.when i ask him wher the waer would leak out of air lines ,because i loo and feel and can not identify where it is leaking,he says he does not know.i am in the midwest and he is on the east coast so i am hard pressed to talk to him at all because of work.to combound to my problem ,the guy that built my home[before i moved here] built the floor 7 and 1/2 inches below grade…so iworked very hard to put up an exterior wall and built up the floor with pressure treated wood and went to very great lengths to not allow water, rain, moisture in,hand dug a200foot french drain and never drempt i would have troube like i am having. paid for the tub 1 year and 4 months ago, hooked it up 1month ago, been in it once .i hope no one has to go though what i have only to have this happen and then not be able to control the ph and free clorine to boot .i don’t even want to use it,but with the higher electric bill and the cost of the tub,all the work i did to house the tub i feel as the universe has closed in on me. ps.cyanuric acid, total alkalinity, and total hardness readings seem alright. how do i lower the ph and free clorine with out haveing the others be to low? i am border line on them being to low now! it did not help when at the start the tech. support did not even know the amount of salt to use which is soposed to be 4.3 lbs which is the same as 4.3 pints of salt iam told. he had us put in 7 lbs to start and theafter days of frustration trying to balance out took it to a spa and pool dealer and had it tested and they said that we were ‘bleached out’ that was when i emtied it . the heater at this point seems to be ok,as well as the pump and all the mechanical, although i am betting that my situation has not helped in their life expendence.thak you for your help and support. for your time my God BlessYou.

if you used the 1″ connector inside the 1.5″ pipe you already blew it….if it was used AFTER the point where the manifold breaks into the 1″ sections you are ok…1 HP SOUNDS ADEQUATE

Help! I’m looking for a Jacuzzi pool pump dealer. We can install it, but we can’t find a place to buy one?
Holiday weekend chores included opening our inground pool. Yuck! Our pool pump needs to be replaced. WE can install it, but we can’t find one! We need a specific Jacuzzi pool pump. I looked up “Jacuzzi” and all I find is Hot tubs and baths. I look up “dealers” and I find every pool (mostly spa) place in Canada. We live in Oshawa, Ont. Does anyone know where we can buy one or at least narrow down my search? Please don’t tell me to order it from anywhere. If my husband can’t WALK into a store, he won’t buy it. If the store must order it that’s fine. We don’t need any pool repair service just the pump. OK I’m rambling…..thanks in advance.

We have dealt with all of the same problems with our hot tub. If the leak is coming out from under your tub, someone is going to have to tip it up on it’s side and take the bottom off to find the leak and repair it. You can also go to Spa Depot.com which sells products but also has a question/answer forum where you can get reliable information. You need to call a reliable hot tub dealer – it doesn’t necessarily have to be one that carries your brand (there should be a tag/name somewhere inside the pump compartment) but it is more helpful if you deal with one that has experience with your brand. They will come, do an inspection and give you information on approximate costs to get this fixed correctly. And, they can help with your chemicals and give advice but Spa Depot can also do this through one of their forums/question/answer section. It sounds like you haven’t found someone knowledgeable enough yet about caring for your tub. Once you get it up and running, all the headaches will be worth it.
