hayward pool heater error code bd?
Receiving an error code of bd on my Hayward H400FD model pool heater. the tech manual is not giving me any direction to clear the code. please advise.

Are you sure it has a pilot? Most modern pool heaters are equipped with non-flame lighting devices. These devices usually generate a spark that ignites the gas. If your pool heater is malfunctioning I strongly urge you to contact a certified repair person.

I cannot see the pilot light on my H series Hayward pool heater.?
I’d like to be able to light with match. Plus be able to easily see when it is out. As it is, I cannot even tell if it ignites when I use the spark button. Any ideas?

My Hayward H100I pool heater tries to light but doesn’t?
We changed the electronic panel and igniter. The blower comes on, but the heater won’t light, We can smell the natural gas, and we can hear it “click” ,but it just won’t light.

How to correct CE error code on Hayward Pool Heater?
My dad has a H250 Hayward Pool Heater and recently had an issue with the chemical breaking down the heat exchanger and causing a leak. We bought a new exchanger and replaced it… three days ago….simple enough, the install was straight forward. Then my dad puts the heater on the other day and it all works fine, gets the pool heated up and because of the previous problems he decided to make a bypass so the water will only go through the heater when its needed. We did that this afternoon and when we turned everything back on there was a CE code on the heater.

The code says communication error between the ignition board and the display board. We pulled it apart and looked to make sure the obvious things were ok- everything seemed fine, the wires were all plugged in and appeared normal.

Anyone had any similar problems and how to diagnose the problem? How can we figure out which board has the problem?

since you stated that you could smell gas, I would recommend that you turn the gas off and call a repair person before it decides to blow-up.

  9. Ellyn G says:

Why does the hose that connects my pool heater to the chlorinator keep popping off?
I have an above ground pool that is 2 months old. I have a Hayward pool heater and an in-line chlorinator. There is a check valve inbetween the heater and chlorinator. The hose that connects the heater to the check valve keeps popping off no matter how tight the hose clamps are.

  10. smokey says:

turn the power off to it for 5 minutes and maybe the computer will reset.
