Does anyone dress up in Cancun?

I'm going to Cancun 5/3-5/11. I'm obviously going to be bringing lots of beach/swim stuff and light stuff for warm weather. Just curious if there are any times when I should be or will be required to dress up? I'm 24, going to be staying at a Golf and Spa Resort with the gf. If I do have to dress up, to what extent? Sport coat and jeans, suit? or just a button shirt (short sleeve or long sleeve?) Thanks.

    No sports coat or suit. Most men wear khaki pants and a collared shirt for dress up. Jeans are okay but may be too hot. Shorts and collared shirt. I would bring both long/short sleeve shirts.

    Cancun is very casual.

    I was there in May last year and the weather was perfect. Have a great trip. Enjoy)

    Hello:

    The weather is going to be very hot, so light clothes are great.
    You’ll need a pair of jeans and maybe 2 or 3 short sleeve shirts to go our dancing at night.
    If you get chilly (so as I) you’ll like to have a very light long sleeve cardigan.

    you might need to dress up a little only for night clubs.

    No……..its hot……….shorts……..no jeans………no sport coat……no long sleeves……..pull over polo……Cancun is very laid back………..been there a dozen times……….never had a call for long pants…………..

    My husband and I live in Cancun and there isn’t a suit or sport coat in the house…the only people what wear suits here is the hotel staff.

    Dress up for men is long cotton or linen slacks with short sleeved shirts. Many men have the type of shirts that you don’t tuck in because they are cooler.

    In case you are wondering the temperature today is 86 degrees, blue sky with some fluffy white clouds. It’s tough living in paradise…
