Cleaning spa tub jets?

How do you clean the spa tub jets? Ours are getting moldy, mildewy or something and I can't get it cleaned out. Any suggestions?
I just need to clean the jets and this is not a spa with water left in it all the time. This is our bathtub with jets. The jets (where the water sprays from) is what is moldy. Any help cleaning that would be very helpful! Thanks.

I have had that problem with ours also – I tried several things, but what works best for me is Lysol Mildew Remover with bleach. You spray it on and let it sit. It is very hard to clean the jets, because they are small and I haven't found anything that gets in there effectively to scrub with. But I have found that repeated applications of Lysol will get rid of the mold with no scrubbing. I would recommend spraying them about once a week to prevent any further mildew buildup. It doesn't smell that great, but if you spray it weekly you won't need to use a whole lot.

There is only 1 way to completely eliminate mold and mildew… a 5% bleach solution. Pour a cupful of laundry bleach into the spa. Run the spa without adding any heat. Then drain the spa. Fill with clean water, then drain that (This gets rid of residual bleach). Fill again and pH balance. Enjoy.

Oh, some people will tell you to "SHOCK" the water. Shocking is the same thing as the 5% bleach solution. "SHOCK" is marketed to the people who don't know any better. They sell them the "SHOCK" at a HUGE mark up. Save yourself the money and use the cupful of bleach.

vinegar will soften lime scale, if you can take them out drop them in a bowl of vinegar overnight & then clean them using a needle & small stiff brush or squirt vinegar directly on to them & allow to soak overnight then brush, wipe surplus off bath straight away, repeat until clean. good luck

i drain my once a month , bought a small pressure washer( lowes) and clean the whole spa…..changing the water like this will not allow the mold to build up…..less cleaning on the filters too…u can drain urs and scrub or use a washer and clean it goo..mine is 7 yrs old and still works great
