I am switching from a bromine system. I added the chlorine-based shock as directed by the spa retailer on instillation of the new Nature2 Spa stick. However, my wife also mistakenly put 4 tbsp of the bromine shock into the tub...do I need to wait for things to balance out, empty the tub and start again, or adjust any mineral/pH levels to bring things back into order. My test strips read high on the cholrinde levels, low on the bromine levels?

A few questions:
1. The Spa Frog directions say to establish an initial residual of 1-2PPM of bromine or chlorine using brominating concentrate or chlorine shock... which one is best to use?

2. In the case of chlorine shock, I thought that shock revived existing chlorine... can shock be used to increase chlorine level if no chlorine has been added?

3. Do I need separate test strips for bromine and chlorine? (If I'm establishing the initial level with chlorine, then maintaining the bromine level, for example...)

Thanks for the help!
