Hi, i have a 24′ft by 52in. Intex metal frame above ground pool. My question is "Instead of buying a large and expensive gas/propane heater…is it possible to hook up a Raypack/Hayward 11KW Electric heater made for a spa, i would hook it up right after the pump and before the hose goes back into the pool.. THANKS
I have a solor cover..but the way my pool is set up is that the sun is only on the pool from 10am till 2:00pm….so a solor cover or solar heater will not work well..thanks

The weekly total profit (in hundreds of $) from sales of X spas and Y heaters is approximately by
P ( x, y ) = 12 + 74x + 85y – 3x^2 – 5y^2 – 5xy
Suppose 4 spas and 7 heaters are sold each week.
1. What is the approx effect on profit if the number of units of spas made and sold is increased to 5 (while heater sales remain the same)
2. What is the approx effect on profit if 4 spas and 8 heaters are made and sold?
Jacuzzi heater and piping is all brand new, works fine all the time, this time i tried to use it, it worked fine, the water got too low i think in the spa so it just stopped filtering all together but the heater and filtering system was still on and working, just not getting to the spa. i filled it back up, flipped on the switch to get the water filtering and have the heated water going into it, but now i turn the switch on the system is working (heater unit and piping), but the water isnt getting to the spa at all, but it still sucks the water in from the spa (when the the switch is on). how do i get it to work like a spa again? all that happened was that the water level was too low then it basically shut off the water supply to the spa, but the heater unit and water switch was still on. thanks in advance.
Hi, I just noticed today that my hot tub was slowly leaking water. I looked underneath and noticed a little hose had come off and was slowly letting out water. Problem is that I can’t find where this hose goes or what it’s for? It’s hard to peek inside and see everything, so can someone please look at the attached photo and let me know what this hose might connect to? The pump, the heater, a pipe, the spa itself? I’m stumped! Thanks.
Sorry, here’s the photo of the hose (tube):

I’m needing to switch out a 240 volt relay. Right now it has a DPST ( double pole, single throw ) relay…can I switch it out with a DPDT ( double pole, double throw ) relay? I know the DPDT is used to reverse power to motor….but if I didn’t hook up the wires to reverse points…wouldn’t it just shut off?
This relay goes to spa motor as well as the heater.
Hot Tub Estimated cost: ,000 with "installation".
He does not understand that there will be additional costs, maintenance and it is in my opinion a stupid idea. Reasons:
1. Electrical Panal from the 1950′s. The lights dim NOW when I plug in an electric heater
2. We need a new Furnace
3. We need to reside the house (Wood siding from 1870′s)
4. I just spent ,000 on a European Cruise he wanted.
He has no financial restraint and often overdraws the checking account then dips into his limited savings. I don’t want him to go broke yet he’s put me in charge of the finances. If he buys this I will hand him all the bills but I know he will just spend all of his money until its gone. Yet if I say no, he gets mad at me. What other reasons can I give him?
I’ve replaced the split nuts, I’ve replaced the gaskets (should I be using O-rings instead?), I’ve replaced the female end (yes the threads match), I’ve wrapped the threads with teflon tape 3 times, to no avail!!! I even tried putting teflon tape between the split nuts before screwing them together. What am I doing wrong?! If over tighten the split nuts, they crack and break! (happened twice)
Should I use one of those big, thick, heavy duty rubber couplers w/hose clamps? If so, what do I do about the lip on the heater tube? Try to slip the coupler over it (yeah right)? Or grind it off maybe? Will my heater tube get too hot and melt the rubber coupler?
The water returning to the spa is luke warm at best. spa wont get above 84, and it was on for 2 hrs. does anyone know what this could be?
but isnt the water coming out suppose to be hot? its only warm. i heard small spas can get hot in 30 mins. should i not be taking water in from the pool skimmers thru the valves?
Galvanized 3/4" gas line in direct contact with a galvanized 3/4" fitting at the end of a copper water line. Water is dripping directly on the point of contact. Their is a gas spa heater within two feet of the point of contact.
I live in Ca. most of the gas lines here are galvanized.
Looking for answers from pros with more than 15 years experience.
I am thinking electrolysis may speed up the corrosion.
The water is dripping at a rate of one drip per second. The leak is inside the pool equipment room and one of the fittings is a close nipple. It has been leaking for two months.
One of the fittings is completely cover with rust, and others are rusted also.
I need to order a replacement for this electrical connector to finish repairs on a spa heater. This connector is about 3/4 “ wide, 6 plug female. My guess is it’s a very common item, but I just don’t have any idea where to look next to purchase it.
It is marked U-2 and AMP, any help greatly appreciated !
